Current Research

Research Areas Our research interest is in networking and distributed systems, end-to-end QoS, and security. We are also interested in managing resources in Cloud & Autonomous computing, TCP performance over next-generation high-speed networks, wireless full-duplex, and DTN networks. We are currently involved in a few interesting projects such as resource management in high-speed networks, wireless Full-duplex LAN design, software-defined networking QoS, IoT network architecture, and IoT Security.

Networking Lab Research Group

Professor Basem Shihada leads the so-called NETLAB research group, which stands for Networking Lab Research Group Our research philosophy is to bridge the gap between theory and practice in a working system. Having worked intensively in computer networking from both theoretical and system aspects, we have acquired both analytical modeling background and an acute sense of applying models to build practical systems.
